Vanessa and Vic Ehmann, as well as being teachers, run a small-holding,
in Luddenham, near Faversham. Here they grow organic fruit and vegetables,
including some very unusual varieties.
Amongst these are black tomatoes, a whole range of beans, mixed salad
leaves including rocket, spinach and chard, two varieties of artichoke,
aubergines, cucumbers, carrots, as well as pink fir apple potatoes, courgettes
and squashes. They have cherry, plum and apple trees and can provide hanging
flower baskets for both summer and winter.
They supply to farmers' markets and if there is a restaurant out there
that wants to tell their customers that they're supporting the local community
- and providing organic fruit and vegetables in their meals - we're sure
they will be happy to supply those too.
